100th Anniversary Activities
– Chicago Coin Club –

2019 is the official 100th anniversary of the Chicago Coin Club. In celebration of this milestone we have many activities we hope you can enjoy.

1200th Meeting

The club celebrated our 1200th club meeting on January 9, 2019, ending our first hundred years. Everyone received a special elongated 1919 Walking Liberty half dollar with the date and 1200th meeting information on the reverse, and a special brass plate commemorating the 1200th meeting. The Chicago Coin Company generously sponsored a reception with food prior to the meeting.

The first meeting of the Chicago Coin Club was held on February 14, 1919. We will start our second hundred years with our 1201st meeting, on February 13, 2019.

Special Edition Red Book®

The club will offer a special edition Red Book®, A Guide Book of United States Coins. This special edition will have a custom CCC front and back cover, and a two-page CCC history section detailing the founding history of the club. This will be a limited edition and will also sell out fast. The book price is $20.00 (add $3 for shipping, but we prefer you pick up at a club event). Note: Individuals attending the August banquet will receive one copy of the CCC special edition Red Book® as part of their ticket. Paid orders can be sent to CCC REDBOOK — PO BOX 2301 — CHICAGO IL 60690. All orders must be accompanied by payment.

100th Anniversary Medal

In keeping with the tradition of past club events and milestones, the Club will issue a 100th Anniversary Medal. The medal’s obverse and reverse dies are complete and ready for use! A total of 250 copper medals will be struck — 200 will be sold for $40 each — 50 will be highlighted with gold and platinum, to be sold for $70 each. The planned 7.6 troy ounce silver medals (.999 fine) are available only by pre-order, but only if orders, with payment for at least 25 medals, are received by June 15, 2019. Paid medal orders can be sent to CCC MEDALS — PO BOX 2301 — CHICAGO IL 60690.

100th Anniversary Banquet and Banquet Medal

We will host a celebratory banquet at Gibson’s Bar and Steakhouse in Rosemont, Illinois on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, in conjunction with the ANA World’s Fair of Money®. Seating is limited to 132 individuals so reserve early. The dinner cost is $100.00, will be a family style meal, and will feature guest speaker Clifford Mishler whose history, knowledge, and stories are bound to be great. Attendees will also receive a special 100th Anniversary Banquet Medal, different from the 100th Anniversary medal, plus a special edition Red Book®, and more. All tickets have been sold, and a waiting list has a number of people.

Of the above items, only the Copper Medal still is available – it can be ordered by going to the order form page, printing out the form, filling it in, and mailing it to us with payment.
