2026 CCC Dues are Due

It is that time of year again. Please pay your 2026 dues.

Check the outside of your printed Chatter. A slip of paper stapled outside the cover indicates that, according to our records, you have not paid your dues for 2026. Please mail the dues to the address on that slip, or use one of the other methods detailed on that slip. For members who are notified by email when a new Chatter issue is available online, the email stated if you have not paid your dues for 2026.

Members who do not pay by March 31, 2026 will be dropped.

On the mailing labels used to mail the printed Chatter, the top right corner has the last digit of the last year for which a member has dues paid (a “5” indicates this member is paid through 2025 and needs to pay for 2026) – for a Life Member, “LM” is in the top right corner. Because we print the labels for a few months at a time, the marking on your mailing label might not change immediately.

Minutes of the Chicago Coin Club Board

November 19, 2025

In attendance: Melissa Gumm, Ray Dagenais, Paul Hybert, Scott McGowan, Carl Wolf, Mark Wieclaw, Steve Zitowsky, Bill Burd, Tyler Rossi, and Jeff Rosinia.

President Melissa Gumm called the meeting to order at 6:15pm CST.

Old Business

  1. Scott McGowan reported a list of all the club’s AV and other assets, excluding medals and souvenir sheets, has been created. The list includes equipment name, model and serial numbers, date acquired, and, in some cases registered email, details. It will be emailed to all board members to have a copy.
  2. Outstanding tech issues, as previously discussed and researched by the Board and Treasurer Elliott Krieter, are all consolidated to the special projects committee, which is working with outside resources for the best AV path forward.
  3. Scott McGowan reported that the CCC member survey link, sent to board members for preview, still has a permissions glitch. It will be revisited, to fix and resend.
  4. Banquet reservations stand at 16, with more coming in. Club was emailed November 16 with menu and other details. Chicago Coin Company is providing appetizers of bruschetta, meatballs, and stuffed fried ravioli. Bill Burd will ask Katie to create one of her great menus for the night.
  5. Review of 2025 Chatter advertisers. Three have paid, one possible outstanding pending Treasurer update.

New Business

  1. Melissa Gumm reported that the ANA has approved the CCC as Host club for the 2027 World’s Fair of Money. Bob Feiler, who was host club vice chair at the last Rosemont convention, will be asked to be 2027 Host club chair. Bob will recommend a vice chair and set the host club committee planning meetings schedule. An Honorary chair is TBD.
  2. Scott McGowan reported that after several inquiries about having our CCC meetings in a 5th floor room at the CBA, after being in the room once earlier in the year, he discussed this with CBA and found the room rent to be $325. It was decided to stay in our usual room.
  3. Paul Hybert requested a review of annual coin shows the CCC will participate in to update the Chatter. CSNS is definitely a yes; ILNA show we could participate in if we have volunteers to staff a table; Greater Chicago Coin and Currency show we wouldn’t have a table.
  4. Paul also indicated if a local coin club holds a show, if we are made aware of it we could list it in our Chatter. It was decided to reach out to Elgin and Will County coin clubs to make them aware of this, as well as announce this at club meetings.
  5. Jeff Rosinia reported, as ANA Club rep, district rep, and National volunteer, that the Oklahoma ANA convention was very successful in signing up new members. He suggested that Chicago Coin Club have some similar effort at the ANA 2027 World’s Fair of Money. Scott McGowan indicated that this is part of the ambassador’s position, and that they always have one or two people staffing the non-member admission line to hand out and promote memberships in the ANA.
  6. Melissa Gumm reported to the board that after five years, Treasurer Elliott Krieter expressed interest in the club looking for a replacement for the treasurer’s position.
  7. Melissa Gumm proposed the board meetings be moved to the first Wednesday, from the third Wednesday. This move allows a timely manner for the board meeting minutes to be published in the Chatter whose publication date can fall closely after the third Wednesday of a month. Board members agreed, and set the next board meeting for Wednesday, February 4th 2026, at 7:00p.m. It will be an online meeting. Steve Zitowsky recommended we publicize the change to the membership.
  8. Melissa Gumm reported that she discussed the Chatter publication cost effectiveness with editor Paul Hybert, and Paul replied that we print about 75 copies and mail about 70 copies per month; the cost to print and post is very manageable, so no change. The balance of our members receive the Chatter by an emailed link to the online version.
  9. Melissa Gumm brought up the subject of annual dues amount, and after brief discussion it was decided to keep the same.

The Board wishes to thank Chicago Coin Company for covering the expense of this meeting’s meal, which is usually paid by individual board members.

Melissa Gumm adjourned the meeting at 7:02pm CST.

Respectfully Submitted
Scott A. McGowan, Secretary
